The biocybernetic team focuses on creating computing tools and biotechnologies to improve personalized medicine. The team of synthetic biology is engaged in the development of biological devices that transform living cells into various bio-sensors, nano-factories and therapeutic agents, and in decision support information technologies based on cellular system models. Outcomes are genetic analysis tools, molecular system design principles, optimized synthesis protocols, integrated diagnostic devices and algorithms, and optimization and tuning protocols all aiming to make synthesis of functional single cell organisms faster, more efficient, and reliable. Work is supported by developed in silico modelling tools. Synthetic biology wet lab wherein developed biotechnologies are validated using standard analytical methods. The team is also engaged in research of IT tools for applications of personalized and precise medicine, i.e. on development of methods and computer systems design for clinician decision making, i.e. modeling and simulation specifically targeted to the needs of biomedical researchers and physicians, as well as the design and development of a comprehensive solution for extensible systems to support ad hoc data analysis, and interpretation of results for a clinicians.
