Solute: a substance that is dissolved in a solvent
Solvent: the substance that the solute is dissolved in
Solubility: the amount of a solute that will dissolve in a solvent - usually measured in molarity (moles/litre)
Concentration: the ratio of solute to solvent in a solution
Diluted solution: a low concentration of a solute in a solvent
Concentrated solution: a high concentration of a solute in a solvent
Saturated solution: the highest possible concentration of a solute in a solvent (no more solute will dissolve without changing temperature or pressure)
