Join me as I start my homestead food growing journey by clearing a piece of land to grow an abundance of grains, more specifically ancient grains, for my family and I.
Growing my own grains is one of the first things I want to grow on the homestead I am starting and building from scratch. The reason for this is that many ancient grains are very drought tolerant and love the intense summer hear we have here in the Klein Karoo.
Some of the grains I will be growing in the grain field include:
- Sorghum
- Amaranth
- Wheat
- Rye
- Barley-
- Quinoa
- Flaxseed
- Millet
