Lalitha is the universal divine Mother and remains a manifestation of Shakti, the ultimate feminine power. She is an aspect of Parvati, the consort of Lord Shiva, the Supreme God of dissolution, and remains as his divine energy. She is also believed to be a part of Shiva, occupying one-half of his body in his unique Ardhanareeswara form. Lalitha is worshiped in a great many names and forms, and Goddesses like Durga, Kali, and Bhagavathi are a few among them.

Lalitha is as much an invincible power as she is a compassionate Mother, and hence, she can wipe out all the problems of the devotees, protect them against dangers, and bestow them with many beneficial blessings.

Lalitha Sahasranamam Importance
Lalitha Sahasranamam is believed to have been composed by the 8 Vaag Devis, as directed by Lalitha herself. According to the scripture Brahmanda Purana, Hayagriva, the horse-faced Avatar of Vishnu, taught these 1000 names of the Goddess to Sage Agastya. Each of the sacred names of the Goddess in Lalitha Sahasranamam is unique and carries profound meaning.

This hymn describes the physical features of the Goddess from her head to feet and speaks about her forms, powers, and accomplishments. Calling her Kameshwari, the exceptionally beautiful one, and her consort Shiva as Kameshwara, this hymn extols the Goddess of the bravery she displayed in the fierce battle with the demon Bhandasura and in his slaying. She is also hailed as the one who brought Manmatha, the God of love, back to life for the good of the world. The Sahasranama also praises her as being Brahma, the creator, Vishnu, the protector, and Shiva, the dissolver, as she performs all their great functions.

Lalita Sahasranama (IAST: lalitāsahasranāma; Sanskrit: ललिता सहस्रनाम) is a sacred Hindu text from the Brahmanda Purana which lists the thousand names of the Hindu mother goddess Lalita Devi, a manifestation of the Divine Mother (Shakti), and is therefore recited in the worship of Devi according to Srikula Sampradayas.

It is a very powerful chanting and gives the chanter a sharp intellect, peace, and prosperity.
