Took the kids apple picking for the first time. Didn't know what to expect especially during this time of COVID. On top of COVID, Oak Glen was also affected by the fires earlier in September. We could see the hills directly adjacent to the farms all charred from the fires.

Picked Willowbrook Farm because it seemed like a smaller and more intimate farm that offered a variety of activities. U-Pick Apples (obviously), U-Press Cider, and animal meet and greet all were very fun especially for the kids.

We reserved our time window online ahead of time for their season opening day for the price of 1 bag of apples for the group ($15); we may add more at the farm. Sure, apples are cheaper at the supermarket, but we are paying for the experience and not really the actual produce. Plus, this supports a local small business which I would pay more willingly for than at a corporate superstore.

They open for U-Pick apples on the weekends from 10 AM to 4 PM; season starts as soon as the fruit is ready. They also open at other times for other activities/events. Best to check their website for full details.
