We have a lot of cases where an F1 student falls in love with a US citizen and want to apply for a green card. A lot of times people drop out of school and get married. USCIS scrutinizes whether F1 students are actually here for school or if they came just to get married.
You certainly don't want to demonstrate immigrant intent without going to school. An F1 visa is for school, and if you drop out or don't graduate, this could cause misrepresentation charge, which means you lied about your reasoning for coming.
A couple of times this week I've seen people stop going to school after a semester, get married and apply for a green card. Many people say they can't afford to keep going, but you've promised the State Department that you can. Officers are going back to see how youo entered the US. If you're not going to class or not graduating, you'll likely be scrutinized.
You should always keep all of your immigration options open.
STAY IN SCHOOL KIDS!
