At tugger trains with insertion concept without lifting function (presented in the video in black and white) trolleys are only inserted and not lifted. Especially the bad driving and braking characteristics speak against this concept as well as the high costs for the trolley castors, the bad ergonomics and the high noise level. In contrast to that, the patented LiftRunner® System of Still (presented in the video in colour) is lifting the trolleys from the floor with the result of better driving characteristics. Only the two castors of the LiftRunner® are on the floor with the result that the trailers follow precisely the tugger train and don’t escape by driving curves and braking actions. Due to the lifting you can use cheaper and harder castors (polyamide) at the trolleys. These can be manipulated easier and therefore the target of the improved ergonomics is achieved. Another advantage is the considerably reduction of the noise level as a result of lifting the trolleys.
