One of the most enjoyable features for me is being able to have a companion or follower in Skyrim. They're good as workhorses so-to-speak, carrying all your loot and trophies from your expeditions. They're also the most annoying aspect of the game too as they often get lost and stuck in the world, which means you have to back track to find out where they are. This is because the pathfinding in Skyrim is somewhat questionable and they have poor algorithmic solutions (if any) when they get stuck and cant resolve their logic. And I never understood why your follower couldn't ride a horse along side the player. Being a dev myself, I'm pretty sure more than one member of the team questioned this logic and I'm also pretty sure there was some lame reason behind why this idea of implementation was scrapped. Since I do quite a lot of game videos, I find their rooting system wanting, as the follower constantly barges into the player and when your trying to do some interesting video captures, all you tend to get is the followers large fat ass in your face! ;) I finally lost my cool and hit the nail in the proverbial coffin, when coming to a quick stop at cliff side edge - my follower ran into me from the rear hitting the horse and we both toppled off the edge to our inevitable deaths! Fortunately I had a previous save but i did have to do a certain amount of back tracking. Bloody irritating.
Anyway, I was pretty sure that some other modder on nexus would be equally irritated by the behaviour of the followers that they would have done a mod. I was simply looking for nothing more than a follower-offset mod so the companion wouldn't get in the way of the vids and charge into me all the time. What I found on this search was this -
AMAZING FOLLOWER TWEAKS
You can get this here on Nexus;

Now this provided me with far more than I was expecting and for this modder I am extremely grateful! WHATS THAT YOU SAY, YOUR FOLLOWER CAN RIDE HORSES? DAMN!

ADDS 2000+ Stunning Days, Nights, Sunsets & Sunrises
ADDS New High Quality Cloud Textures for Realistic looking Skies
ADDS Revamped Rain System
ADDS Intense Storms
ADDS Fork Lightening Visuals
ADDS New Sun & Sunglare Visuals
ADDS New Thunder Sounds
Lighting Overhauled & Remastered
ADDS New & Unique Lighting
ADDS Natural Atmospheric & Fantasy Lighting Techniques
ADDS Realistic Nights
You can also customise certain elements for instance choosing your own flavour of Vanilla Nights and your own taste of Dungeons & Caves and Also Interiors
Personally I was already running Realistic Lighting but that doesn't feature weather so some of those features I have mixed with COT. I kept my own Dungeon System and Interiors since I heavily modded these myself form Realistic Lighting. I would have preferred to keep my own nights too (& this is my only criticism they're heavily desaturated so you lose a lot of the colour of fires and torches), maybe the COT creator will provide us with some customisation features with ini's in the future.
