Up until last week, I would see dozens of scantily clad women lined up along Aurora Ave N, blatantly offering sexual services in front of Lowes and Firestone. Sunday evening, they were gone.
Residents and biz owners say it's been like this now for several days and they remain cautiously optimistic. This reprieve is likely due to the recent crackdown on nearby Seattle Inn and Emerald Motel.
Seattle Police(

) and City Attorney Ann Davison(

) deemed these two locations "nuisance properties" after a litany of complaints about human trafficking, assaults, and a homicide.
I spoke to the owners and representatives of both properties. The Emerald Motel is owned by a Korean American family and the Seattle Inn is owned by a Chinese American man. No one wanted to go on camera. But the owners all say they had no idea any of this illicit activity was happening on the regular and call themselves unwitting victims. They're now trying to reopen in the the next few months but must meet city requirements like beefed up security.
However, the situation is far perfect. I did see a handful of women on side streets jumping in and out of cars. The well known "midget" is also walking the streets. Can't make this stuff up. It's Seattle. No one would believe me if I didn't have this video. 🙃
Hopefully some new Seattle City Council members will finally come to their senses and realize what's been allowed to flourish is a human tragedy. There are teens out here, common! 🧵👇
