These hardy fish are native to India where they are found in waters with lots of vegetation. Therefore, they will prefer a planted aquarium, but are very adaptable and will thrive in almost any peaceful community tank. They are typically found in groups in the wild, but in the aquarium aggression may occur between rival males, so one male per tank is recommended.
