Social distancing measures appear to be working but the UK must not get complacent, the Government has said.
Dr Stephen Powis, Medical Director of NHS England, said the number of new cases is showing a sign of a "plateau", describing this as "green shoots" of positive news.
Speaking at today’s Downing Street press conference, Dr Powis said: "You have to keep your foot on the pedal...no complacency.”
