Hali hazırda donanmasında Türk botları bulunan Katar, son olarak Anadolu Tersanesi’ne 2 Silahlı Savaş Eğitim Gemisi siparişi verdi.
Başlangıçta çıkarma gemileri olarak başlayan proje, Katar’ın acil ihtiyaçları kapsamında Silahlı Savaş Eğitim Gemisi inşasına dönüştü.
Gemiler için Anadolu Tersanesi ile Katar Silahlı Kuvvetleri arasında Mart 2018’de sözleşme imzalandı. Üretim takvimi Şubat 2019’da başlayan gemilerden ilki 2021'de, ikincisi 2022'de teslim edilecek.
Gemilerden ilki Al Doha (Cadet Training Ships) törenle denize indirildi. Silahlı Savaş Eğitim Gemileri, gövdesi yüksek mukavemetli çelik, üst binası ise alüminyum olarak inşa ediliyor. Gemilerde eğitim maksatlı tam fonksiyonel iki adet köprü üstü bulunuyor.
Katar bu gemilerle şu andaki en önemli ihtiyaçlarından biri olan deniz kuvvetleri için personel yetiştirmeyi hedefliyor.

Efforts to increase domestic and national solutions in the defense industry give positive results in exports.
The responsibility given to military and civil shipyards in projects aimed at meeting the needs of the Turkish Naval Forces ensures the development of the sector day by day.
While the domestic rate of naval platforms exceeds 70 percent, the boats and ships produced by the Turkish defense and shipbuilding industries are preferred by the navies of various countries.
One of these countries is Qatar. Qatar, which already has Turkish boats in its navy, finally ordered 2 Armed Combat Training Ships to the Anatolian Shipyard.
The project, which initially started as landing ships, turned into an Armed Combat Training Ship for Qatar's urgent needs.
A contract for the ships was signed between the Anatolian Shipyard and the Qatar Armed Forces in March 2018. The first of the ships whose production schedule started in February 2019 will be delivered in 2021, and the second in 2022.
The first ship, Al Doha (Cadet Training Ships), was launched with a ceremony. The Armed Combat Training Ships are constructed with high-strength steel hulls and aluminum upper buildings. There are two fully functional bridge tops for training purposes.
The full length of the ships is approximately 90 meters, the width is 14.2 meters and the displacement is at the level of 2 thousand 150 tons.
66 ship personnel will work on ships with a maximum speed of 22 nautical miles and an economic speed of 15 knots. With 76 students and 8 instructors on board, all kinds of operations and sensor-weapon use training will be given.
Classes, training grounds, ships prepared for training with the second bridge will be equipped with weapons and sensors.
With these ships, Qatar aims to train personnel for the naval forces, one of its most important needs at the moment.
