Hello YouTube, Todd Ault here, and Welcome to Wall Street Words! Today's Wall Street term is "Reinvestment Risk"

Definition - Refers to the possibility that an investor will be unable to reinvest cash flows (e.g., coupon payments) at a rate comparable to their current rate of return. Zero-coupon bonds are the only fixed-income security to have no investment risk since they issue no coupon payments.

This is a particular risk for pension funds that have a required rate of return. Should an investment end early, they may be unable to find a suitably high rate elsewhere. This risk is particularly high when interest rates are falling.
