London Korean Film Festival: A Resistance (2019) 9 Nov, 2019 | Picturehouse Central
Don’t miss new release A Resistance (항거: 유관순 이야기, Dir. Joe Min-ho) screening at this year’s #LKFF.
Set almost entirely within the confines of the notorious Seodaemun Prison, A Resistance (2019) tells the story of real-life freedom fighter Yu Gwan-sun who was imprisoned for protesting against the Japanese occupation of Korea. Released on the 100-year anniversary of her arrest, themes of women’s solidarity and Christian martyrdom come to the fore in this intersectional retelling of Korea’s early struggle for independence.
9 Nov, 2019 | Picturehouse Central
This screening is part of the Cinema Now strand at the London Korean Film Festival, running from 1-14 November in London before taking highlights around the country with the annual UK Tour.
