A lady pilgrim from Hyderabad dies in Mina Stampede

A lady Haj pilgrim Smt. Bi Bi Jaan W/o Abdul Majeed aged 60 years R/o LB Nagar, Hyderabad RR District died in the stampede that occurred in Mina near Makkah in Saudi Arabia today. She had gone on pilgrimage with her husband and other two relatives on September 2, and had completed the Haj yesterday. She was proceeding to take part in stoning Big Satan and got injured in the stampede. She was admitted in a Mina Hospital, where she succumbed to injuries.
Special Officer Telangana State Haj Committee Prof. S. A. Shukoor, who is in constant touch with the Consul Haj, Indian Haj Mission in Jeddah besides Khadim ul Hujjaj of both the states, told that apart from this there is no information about any injury or casualty. The Khadim ul Hujjaj have been alerted to check all the tents n Mina, where the pilgrims from two states are put up.
He spoke to the relatives of the deceased pilgrims both in Saudi Arabia and in Hyderabad and consoled them.
The State Haj Committee has set an exclusive Help Line with No. 040 – 2321 4193 for Telangana State and 040 – 2329 8793 for the Andhra Pradesh State, which will work round the clock. The Haj Committee of India has also set up a 24X 7 Control Room with Telephone numbers 022- 2271 7100 / 2271 7101 / 2271 7102.
