🥼 Clinical
Scaphoid Fracture: Falling on outstretched arm, pain located in anatomical snuffbox, risk of necrosis (interruption in blood supply)
Boxer’s Fracture: Fracture of 5th metacarpal. Distal part of fracture displaces anteriorly, shortening of affected finger.
Bennett’s Fracture: Fracture of 1st metacarpal. Forced hyperabduction of the thumb. Extends into the 1st carpometacarpal joint causing instability and subluxation of the joint.
