In this knitting tutorial I will show you how to knit a heart shaped heel.

The heel flap is a great fit for those with a high instep and wide heel. It is also easily reinforced by adding a strand of laceweight yarn for the heel knitting portion. Other variations include working with slipped stitches to create a textured heel detail (not part of this video).

If you prefer knitting with the magic loop method or flexi tip needles, I recommend using stitch markers to visualize your points of increase/decrease.
