🚨Calling all depression shoppers!🚨
🖤If you go shopping to make yourself feel better when you’re struggling with your mental health, this post is for you. And you’re not alone!
🖤Retail therapy is a coping mechanism used in order to improve your mood. It’s the possibility of a treat or a reward that releases dopamine and makes you feel so good.
🖤But it’s not a sustainable habit, as it drains your bank account and can become addictive.
🖤Some other options for when you’re feeling low are speaking with an actual therapist, reaching out to a friend or family, spending time in nature, creating a “To-Do” list, or just window shopping or putting items in your cart.
🖤I’m definitely a fashion girlie who absolutely loves to shop when I feel down. And it definitely doesn’t make me feel worse. 😅 But I’m not in a position to spend right now so I have to rely on other things and methods.
🖤P.S. Please never actually get off your SSRIs or stop taking them without the guidance of a professional. 🫶🏻
