China's first self-developed narrow-body aircraft, the C919, left Shanghai Hongqiao Int’l Airport for Guangzhou Baiyun Airport on Friday, June 14 as flight MU 5309, marking the start of operation of its fourth commercial route.

The flight landed in Guangzhou two hours later, where it was welcomed by a "water-gate" ceremony.

A total of 162 passengers took the flight.
