How to read an AFD (Airport/Facility Directory) or chart supplement.
There is only a limited amount of airport information you can get from a sectional chart or terminal area chart. There is only so much information they can pack onto these charts. This drives a requirement for supplemental information. In this case, the supplement information for airports can be found in an Airport/Facility Directory which is sometimes called a chart supplement.
AFDs contain information on public and joint-use airports, seaplane bases, heliports, VFR airport sketches, NAVAIDs, communications data, weather data, airspace, special notices, and operational procedures. There are 7 versions of the AFDs that cover the United States, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. The airports are listed alphabetically by name.

The chart supplements update every 2 months or so such that I would recommend checking this site for the updated PDF each time you plan a flight.
