After extreme winter weather hit the South the Ozarks was filled with some amazing scenery. Once it started to warm up Angie and I geared up to camp a couple nights in the National Forest and go find some of the waterfalls that were thawing out.
We camped Sunday night at Fairview off of Highway 7 then the next morning started waterfall searching about a mile down the highway looking for Native American Falls. After our hike to and from Native American Falls we made it back up to the Jeep then drove SW on Highway 123 before pulling off on a forest road to get to the trailhead to the Bear Creek Drainage.
Bear Creek was an amazing area filled with waterfalls and cascades, the three main ones where Sidewinder Falls, Swamp Falls, and V Slot Falls. It is a very steep hike down to these falls making it fairly difficult, definitely worth it though!
After I made it back up to Angie and the Jeep we returned to Highway 123 and drove further on down to the Big Piney Creek, from there we turned onto Big Piney Rd, crossed Hurricane Creek, and made a stop at a mostly frozen Car Wash Falls. The ice from the waterfall was so big they actually had to close the road!
After a quick stop at Car Wash Falls we made our way back across Hurricane Creek where we found a good spot to camp for the night.
Thank you for watching! Don't forget to hit the thumbs up if you enjoyed!
