CataractCoach recommends that all cataract surgeons learn how to perform MSICS and we even have a video dedicated to showing you the key pearls for success. In this video our guest surgeon uses a pre-chopper instrument to split the nucleus into halves before removing them via the MSICS incision. This allows for a smaller incision which can mean faster healing and less astigmatic effect. We have also previously shown another technique of bisecting the nucleus with a needle prior to removing the halves via the MSICS incision. You truly must learn MSICS!
