With an elevation of 9,843 feet above sea level, Jabal Sawda is the tallest peak in Saudi Arabia. The peak is located in the southwest province of Asir. The Asir Region, which is located on a high plateau, receives the most rainfall in the regions in Saudi Arabia and has the highest peaks. Jabal Sawda is located near the city of Abha. The peak is part of a mountain range known as the Sarawat Mountains, which runs parallel to the western coast of the Arabian Peninsula. The Sarawat Mountain Range is the largest in the Arabian Peninsula its mountains are rocky, though some contain vegetation.
