Borage, also known as Starflower, is native to the Mediterranean region, and has naturalized in many other locales as well, i. e. Denmark, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
The leaves are edible, have a cucumber like taste while the flowers taste sweet because they contain a lot of sugar and are being used to decorate desserts and cocktails, commonly frozen in ice cubes.
The flowers are also known to attract honey- and bumblebees as they love the amount of sugar that they can take out of the blossoms. Ants are also interested and do carry the seeds often over relatively large distances, thus spreading the plant around the original place.
You can clearly see in the video that the flower reacts very sensitive to the lack of water. I admit that the pot was to small to support the flowers extreme thirsty grow phase. Also interesting is that the blossoms change color from light purple to blue while they develop.
