Do you use manual focus with your Sony A7IV or other mirrorless camera or are you AF only shooter? Focusing with DSLR / Mirrorless lenses on a small camera body can be challenging especially with manual focus. It is because these lenses use focus by wire system. This way you can't linearly control the focus distance. Each time you turn the focus wheel it will focus to another point based on how fast you turn the wheel.

One thing you could use up to this point was focus peaking. This feature was good, but it could be misleading sometimes. This Short is about a relatively new feature called Focus map which you can find in modern Sony Mirrorless cameras. Even though it's not a new hot sony update, many of you may be neglecting it and still rely only on the autofocus. With this video I wanted to encourage you to start using manual focus more. Sony's Focus Map will definitely take down a lot of stress from manual focusing. What is your experience with it?
