IT'S ABOUT THE YEARNING. as someone who loves the the 2009 bbc mini-version of emma (and clueless) i was coming into this movie with quite a lot of skepticism but wow i loved it so much! i don't think it's my ultimate favourite version of emma, the 2009 version will always have my heart, but i LOVE this interpretation of emma and knightley (and emma and harriet) so much. all the intense! yearning! and the hands!!! and just their entire dynamic and chemistry as a whole was really lovely. i don't say this lightly, but they're probably my favourite on-screen version of this pairing now.
