The spatial three-body problem showing a chaotic, compact and long-lasting trajectories of three bodies with equal masses.
The initial conditions for the last segment were obtained from a large sample of random initial conditions where the trajectories were close, not periodic, and where the spheres with selected radii would not quickly collide and cause numerical errors. Too close encounters would generate large errors regardless of the integration algorithm.
The system is treated as a 6-DOF separable Hamiltonian system accounting for a total of 3x3 coordinates. It was simulated using high order explicit symplectic integrators.
