"I wouldn't say that it's a religion, because for me, my experience of religion has been to always place things at a distance or above me or out of my reach or something that I can't necessarily connect to myself. And I do feel that I can be present with her."

14. Various of Sister Rita Minehan, one of the founders of Solas Bhride Centre and Hermitages, reading the Bible
15. SOUNDBITE (English) Sister Rita Minehan, one of the founders of Solas Bhride Centre and Hermitages:
"You know, she belongs to both worlds. She didn't become Christian until into her teens. And she would have inherited, you know, some of the folklore and some of the attributes of the pre-Christian goddess and some of those were lovely attributes and good attributes. So I don't have any, you know... So I think if anything, probably she's enriched by it and more people can become and feel more included and inclusive, if you like, part of her because of that dimension - those who don't want to be Christian or who don't want to be anything can still feel part of and come under Brigid's cloak."
16. Cutaway
17. SOUNDBITE (English) Sister Rita Minehan, one of the founders of Solas Bhride Centre and Hermitages:
"Does Brigid have something to say to us today and we believe she does. And the centre welcomes people of all faiths and no faith; all are welcome at Brigid's door. We're told no one was turned away. So that's been a great blessing for us because we just have people come of all hues, all religions, no religion, all blessing us with their presence."
