As many people migrate across the great US, more and more are looking to relocate closer to the water.
Some are shocked when I suggest moving to South Alabama.
When thinking about where you want to live, here are three things to think about when considering coastal Alabama.
The first reason is that we have gorgeous, white, sandy beaches and deep blue water. We are situated just on the northernmost part of the Gulf of Mexico. Baldwin County, Alabama has 32 miles of sugar, white sandy beaches in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. The seafood we eat is fresh and comes out of the Gulf. You’ll often see shrimpers heading out early in the morning to bring in the catch for the day. Common water sports are jet skiing, recreational, boating, tubing, kayaking and paddle-boarding, and now, e-foiling. Our waters include the Gulf of Mexico, many back bays, rivers and the intercoastal waterway.
Secondly, our county is agricultural based. We grow a lot of the food we eat. Common crops include corn, cotton, potatoes and lots of other veggies and fruits. We invite you to visit any of our local farmers markets to pick up fresh peanuts, sun ripened tomatoes or fresh cucumbers. 
And a third reason why you’ll want to live here is that we have the bluest skies around! In the song Sweet Home Alabama, the line “where the skies are so blue” rings true!
