The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday gave its consent to jailed Kashmir leader Sheikh Abdul Rashid, also known as Engineer Rashid, for him to take oath as an MP on July 5.
Additional Sessions Judge Chander Jit Singh will on Tuesday pass an order on the interim bail plea of Rashid, who is lodged in Tihar Jail in Delhi in a 2017 terror funding case. He won Lok Sabha elections 2024 as an Independent candidate from the Baramulla constituency in Jammu and Kashmir by a margin of over 2 lakh votes against his nearest rival, National Conference leader Omar Abdullah
