July 10, 2016 - The single longest day of driving of this trip saw me driving along the very desolate CanAm Highway (U.S. Route 85) south of Regina, Saskatchewan.
It was a very beautiful drive through prairie, plains, grasslands, and badlands, with very few settlements of any size south of Saskatchewan's capital city. Heading south, you think North Dakota is interesting? Well, you're in luck, because there's ANOTHER Dakota just beyond it!
At the edge of the Black Hills in South Dakota lies the city of Rapid City, my final destination. I really like that town and the surrounding area, but dang, I had quite the sojourn to get there!
