The good folks at Hell's Canyon Harley-Davidson in Lewiston, Idaho set up a test ride for me on this marvelous Fatboy, even though I can't afford to buy it. I do own a rather rough but fun 1991 Fatboy.
Let me tell you: the new Fatboy, on the new Softail chassis, is light-years away from the original. The old one feels as heavy as it is. The new one is even heavier, but even so, it feels much lighter! I can't believe what a good job H-D did with this new chassis. The new engine is amazingly torquey and smooth, whereas the old one is torquey, spits oil, and has old-school vibes at any speed.
