MartinLogan's Motion Foundation series loudspeakers have been designed to put high-performance technologies within reach of a wider audience while maintaining the brand's commitment to an uncompromising audio experience, says the Kansas-based manufacturer.
Following the lessons learned during the development of MartinLogan's Motion XT and Motion series products, Motion Foundation takes into account anechoic measurements, in-room testing, and blind listening tests to produce a line of speakers that “sets high benchmarks for performance and value within their class”, according to Andrew Lindsey, Product Manager at MartinLogan.
The MartinLogan Motion Foundation Series comprises five new rear-ported models, two floorstanders in the Motion Foundation F2 flagship and more compact F1, two bookshelf speakers in the B2 and B1, and the C1 centre channel.
The Motion Foundation Series sees the introduction of the company's Gen2 Obsidian Folded Motion Tweeter S. This uses a folded thin film material to achieve a greater surface area in a compact space. MartinLogan states that this translates to incredible detail and clarity.
The Motion Foundation Series incorporates new Aluminum Midrange and Bass Drivers, featuring trickle-down technology from the recently released Motion XT and Motion Series. Also, the centre channel features an Anti-Lobing 2.5-way design, which is said to minimise tonality alteration commonly found in 2-way centre channel designs without the larger cabinet requirements typically associated with 3-way configurations. This should result in more furniture-friendly sizing, clearer dialogue and higher accuracy.
Finally, C1 puts the Gen2 Obsidian Folded Motion Tweeter S, Folded Motion Waveguide and aluminium midbass drivers together with MartinLogan’s signature 2.5-way “Anti-Lobing” centre channel design.
MartinLogan's Motion Foundation Series of loudspeakers is now available.
