As photographers, we're dealing with hundreds, thousands, or even tens of thousands of photos from shoots. After the fun part of shooting photos is over, it's time to sit down at the computer and start getting to work. If you don't know where to begin, organizing and sorting photos in Adobe Lightroom can feel overwhelming.
To help you get on the right track, this tutorial breaks down the different organization methods you have for sorting photos within a folder. From flags, reject flags, rated, or color labeled images, you can quickly separate your good photos from the bad in no time.
Once you start to see how these different sorting options work, I share a Lightroom workflow I like to use to sort my images. With the techniques I share here, I can organize 1000 images in 10-20 minutes. After the main images are flagged, I go through a second pass while I edit to add further ratings or color labels depending on what I plan to do with the image.
Once everything is complete, I take all the reject flags and delete them from lightroom or my disk (depending on my mood). With the tips learned here, you can copy my workflow, or make some adaptations to work for you!
