At least 28 councils are undertaking a review of statues criticised for their links to racism, slavery or colonialism.

Actions under consideration range from taking them down, plaques to put them in historical context and listening to residents' concerns.

It comes as more than 10,000 people have signed a petition condemning plans to remove a monument to the founder of the Scouts movement in Poole.
