Hey Everyone,
Thank you for all the support you've given the Crazy Cart in the 8 months since its release last July! The Crazy Cart was just awarded 2014 Outdoor Toy of the Year and it was due mainly to all the attention generated by fans like you who shared our videos and told your friends or wrote articles about the Crazy Cart. Thank you!
With that taken care of, let's get into some details about what you are seeing in this video. This is video of a prototype of the 2014 Crazy Cart XL. At 36" wide, this prototype is a bit wider than the final production units will be. This is because we found that 36" is wider than many door frames. As things currently stand, the Crazy Cart XL will be powered by a 36v battery system (the 2013 Crazy Cart featured a 24v battery system) and a 350w motor (the 2013 Crazy Cart featured a 200w motor. The net result is that this Crazy Cart can carry a 6'3", 240lb driver up to 17mph!
The seat on the 2014 Crazy Cart XL has been placed above the batteries, making it easier for drivers to get in and out of the Crazy Cart, while also moving the driver's weight closer to the front drive wheel, which helps increase traction. The seat has been mounted on a hinge to allow 'quick change' battery swaps. We will be selling extra battery kits with chargers on the Crazy Cart page of Razor.com, so get ready for endless drifting!
The front caster wheels used on the 2013 Crazy Cart proved to be more problems than they were worth, so we've replaced them with anti-tip posts which have replaceable slide pucks on the ends of them.
We are still trying to decide if we're going add a plastic bucket around the front wheel to protect driver's pants from getting dirty/muddy, but open frame just looks so dope! What do you guys think? Let us know in the comments (we read all of them).
Also, in this clip you see me using a Brody knob to steer. We thought that this was going to be a good idea, but it turns out to actually make precise control a little tougher, so we're considering not including them at all. Again, your input in welcome, so drop us a suggestion in the comments.
Thanks again for all the love you've shown the Crazy Cart! We're looking forward to an amazing 2014 that will include the release of this XL version of the Crazy Cart as well as an all new 2014 Crazy Cart that improves upon the smaller sized 2013 edition.
Finally, word on the street has it that Ken Box has been training for a possible return to the little big screen. SUBSCRIBE and like the Crazy Cart on Facebook for more information! - Ali
