Here are their descriptions of my ethnicities:
Balkan - 77.7%
The Balkan Peninsula of Southeast Europe was the first in the continent to incorporate the practice of agriculture brought over from Mesopotamia some 5,000 years ago. It has long stood as a socio-political meeting point, bridging between Latin, Greek, and Slavic cultures in antiquity, Christianity and Islam in the early modern period, and opposing sides during the World Wars and Cold War in recent history. Despite strife and ethnic conflict, the region continues to be a bridge between rich cultures and identities. Balkan music has become internationally popular in recent years; it incorporates Slavic and West Asian influences and is distinguished by its rhythmic energy and danceability.
Iberian - 10.7%
The region of Iberia, which encompasses Spain and Portugal, has been historically shaped by multiple civilizations and distinct populations starting with the ancient Iberian tribes to modern-day Spanish and Portuguese people. In 1492 Jews were expelled from the region, and Christopher Columbus set sail for the Americas, kicking off the age of exploration and conquest in the New World. Iberian explorers spread across the Americas, parts of Africa, and the Indian sub-continent, leaving their genetic mark on these areas. Modern surgery was pioneered in Spain during the Golden Age of Islamic Iberia, around 1000 CE.
Baltic - 6.3%
The Baltic states have seen many masters, having been conquered by neighboring lands many times, but the Baltic ethnic group is Indo-European from an ethno-linguistic point of view. For example, the Balts, as they may be called in English, are “Baltai” in Lithuanian and “Balti” in Latvian. “Baltic” first referred to the sea of that name, and Balcia was supposedly an island therein. Many small ethnic groups in the area, including those of Baltic origin, eventually merged into the larger groups, including the Prussians, and those who are today considered hailing from the Baltic states: Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.
West Asian - 5.3%
The people of modern-day Iran and Turkey trace their genetic heritage to the ancient Persians and the Turkic ethnic people, respectively. The ancient Persians were nomads who entered the region in the 10th century BCE, while Turkey was home to early hunter-gatherers in its prehistory and was eventually Hellenized by Alexander the Great. The predominant cultures and languages of Western Asia are Persian, Turkic, and Arabic and its largest religious groups are Shia and Sunni Islam with religious and ethno-religious minorities such as Christians, Jews, Zoroastrians, and Baha'is also present. The Persian rug is a well-known component of local culture; Iranians were the earliest people in history to weave carpets and today produce more rugs and carpets than the rest of the world put together. Many historians also link the advent of human rights to this region, with the Cyrus Cylinder of the Achaemenid Persian Empire often referred to as the world’s oldest declaration of universal human rights.
