Steve Gregor is a skydiver and BASE jumper in New Zealand who was diagnosed with Scheuermanns Disease, a degenerative spinal deformity causing a severe thoracic kyphosis, in his mid twenties. Unfortunately at that age the options for treatment are extremely limited, unlike if you are made aware of it in your early teenage years before your bones have finished growing.
In this short video Steve describes exactly what Scheuermanns disease is and the effects on his body and his life of having a 94 degree angle in his spine, using helpful graphic aids, with the aim to educate people about this relatively unknown disease.
