38 years ago the Indian Army stormed the Golden Temple complex. It was part of Operation Blue Star. The complex was undertaken to flush out Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and other armed militants. They were hiding inside the temple premises. Bhindranwale and his aides were killed in the military operation.
