A light piece for 2 piccolos and 6 flutes.
My gratitude goes to the Flute Gang, where (in purely random alphabetical order of the last letter of the name) covertCharisma, SableProvidence, FluteOfTime, CalicoCorsair, TenorKicksBrass, OneLuckyCricket and Anne_CZ took the patience and effort to learn and record the piece during covid isolation.
Do check out earlier releases from this lovely group:
• Pavane, Gabriel Fauré: [ Ссылка ]
• Concerning Hobbits, Howard Shore: [ Ссылка ]
• Lacrimosa, W.A. Mozart: [ Ссылка ]
Things I’ve learned:
• Off-beat figures are very hard to get synced when the ensemble is not playing in the same room but spread out over the world.
• Changing the click track pulse a bar earlier than on the score to prepare the feel for the next section? Nope nope nope, never doing that again. Courtesy? More like confuse.ly.
• Turns out most people pronounce ‘buh’ differently than I thought.
• When stuck in a washing machine it’s impossible to organically conduct an ensemble. You wouldn’t believe the cramp I had during that take. Also, it gets really, really hot inside really, really quickly.
