To Madagascar now, where Prime Minister Olivier Mahafaly has ordered an investigation into clashes between protesters and police at the weekend. At least one person has died and more than a dozen are wounded.
Supporters of former president Marc Ravalomanana say new electoral laws are designed to prevent him from contesting presidential elections. The laws state presidential candidates need to report on any previous criminal convictions. Ravalomanana was convicted on several coup-related charges while he was in exile in South Africa.
