The male Kimberly (Varanus glauerti) went in his new home this evening. He will have company once my other one has grown some more; perhaps 4-6 weeks will do it.
This vivarium has been set up specifically with this species in mind, aiming for an Australian outback look.
As well as doing all the rock work and brand new furnishing, I made an artificial rock basking slab, so that the colour would fit the theme better than using slate or another material.
Teh project required splitting a 6 foot talk vivarium in to two units. kimberlies on the bottom and for now the top will be kept free (or that's my plan!), so that I have it for separating male animals of my different species, as and when is needed, or if I decided to hold back and raise up any of my babies it might be used for this.
A quick image of both of the units is at the start of this video. A further video is coming soon, to give a walk through of some of the features of the units and the how and why things have been done this way. Hit subscribe and keep your eyes peeled if you would like to check it out.
Thanks for supporting!
