Israeli researchers have found that people who regularly used aspirin to prevent heart disease had a 29 percent lower chance of getting infected with COVID-19 than people who did not. Exactly how aspirin works against COVID-19 is still unclear, but it is an anti-inflammatory medication. Also, those who used aspirin but did get the coronavirus had a disease lasting two to three fewer days than people who didn't take aspirin. The drug also appears to decrease the risk of severe COVID-19. We need more research to truly know if aspirin could be a preventative option for COVID-19, but don't start taking it on a regular basis unless your doctor instructs you to.
