Drove two hours down to Packwood, Washington and drove another hour up a dusty dirt road up to Walupt Lake Camprground. We later hiked through an unmarked non existent trail down to a super steep canyon and witnessed the cascading waterfall known as the the Walupt Creek Falls. My eye could not stop staring at its white bubbly water cascading down the giant smooth stone face. You could easily walk up its steps and feel the perfect temp water rushing through your feet and take awesome up close and personal shots. Definitely one of the best waterfalls I have seen in my life and it is located here in Washington!
The next day we packed our day packs and hiked up around Goat Rock Wilderness Loop and reached the frozen Goat Lake at an elevation of 7,500 feet. It was a long 13.5 mile hike with an elevation of 2,700 feet. On the way up we were treated with broad rolling meadows, summer flowers, cold drinkable streams, Mt. Adams, Mt. Saint Helens, and a piece of the PCT trail. The lake was still frozen and could not capture its summer turqouise color.
