Learn to recognize tension and relaxation in your body. How can your sensory motor experience of playing with force and gravity help you to release chronic muscle pain? Try this exploration to notice when you are using unnecessary force to "push into" or "pull away" from the ground in a way that might reveal chronically tight muscles in your body. Part of learning to find comfort in the body is knowing what your muscles feel like when they are tight and when they are relaxed. This is class #2 in this exploration; the focus of this practice is on the periphery of the body - arms/shoulders and legs/pelvis and their relationship to the torso. You may also want to try the first video in this series is "Somatic Yoga - Sensory Motor Perception Of Force & Gravity In The Spine"; the focus of class #1 is the spine, releasing tension in the back and torso and moving from the central nervous system.
