A new study has found that people in a constant vegetative state may be aware of their surroundings.
Adrian Owen of the University of Western Ontario says using the EEG and its results can really guide options for things like rehab and therapeutic choices for patients in a vegetative state. He says the technology can help determine which bits of the brain are still working.
