Part 1 of a 5 part BBC documentary series of the last governor of Hong Kong, finally available in full length video.
It gives a detailed look into the politics just before the handover and explains the background of many of the issues Hong Kong is currently experiencing. It covers the major personalities of the time (many who are still hold power), the prevailing attitudes, the strength of our civic leaders and the cowardice of the tycoons and pro-China cronies. This documentary gives an insight to a burgeoning sense of political entitlement and a growing sense of independent identity that has firmly taken root among the Hong Kong people of today.
This documentary is an excellent insight into our recent history and shows a midway stage in the arc of our development that will one day see us free once again.
