Hi there, I'm Lauren Bradshaw. Amy Adams and Jason Segel teamed up with costars Kermit, Miss Piggy, and the rest of the Muppets at the film's LA premiere. We have the cute story in today's PopSugar Rush!
Hollywood stars came out to show their love for the Muppets at the world premiere for their movie on Saturday. PopSugar editors Lindsay Miller and Katie Henry were both on the green carpet to chat with all of the famous fans, including the film's two non-puppet leads, Jason Segel and Amy Adams.
LINDSAY: The movie was a long-time passion project for Jason. In fact, he recently said that some of his favorite childhood memories were of watching reruns of the muppet show with his mom.
JASON SEGEL: "My favorite episode is the peter sellers episode . . . Parents are watching that, enjoying their favorite comedian of all time sing a grown-up song, and kids are enjoying it, watching a stranger sing a song with puppets, and the whole family was able to enjoy it together."
In the movie, Jason and Amy Adams play a couple who helps the Muppets stage a comeback to save their old theater — with a few song and dance numbers of course.
"I've got everything that I need"
JASON SEGEL: I have a body that's made for dancing. I don't know if you can tell, no, it was meant to happen. I've been on a collision course for dancing for a long time.
Jason joked with us that the dancing scenes were a piece of cake and his costars Amy Adams and Rashida Jones spoke to us about their other leading man, Kermit.
LINDSAY: You've worked with a lot of great leading men, but how did Kermit stack up?
AMY ADAMS: "Kermit's great, he's probably, he's the most chill that's for sure."
RASHIDA JONES: "We got along really well."
While Kermit may have been on his best behavior on set, it sounds like Miss Piggy was a real diva.
LINDSAY: Did you get a chance to work with Miss Piggy at all?
KRISTEN SCHAAL: I think she was in my, I can't remember. I wasn't allowed to look her in the eyes, so I don't even know if she was there or not.
KATIE: Miss Piggy arrived to the premiere in her own car, and was wearing Jeremy Scott and Christian Louboutin shoes.
Miss Piggy wasn't the only one making a grand entrance. Kermit, Gonzo, and the rest of the gang hit the carpet in a Jeep, and even Sweetums put his very large, but stylish foot forward for the occasion.
REPORTER: "Sweetums, who designed your burlap sack?
SWEETUMS: "Oh, I made this myself."
REPORTER: "It's very fashionable."
SWEETUMS: "Thank you."
You can see Miss Piggy, Kermit, Amy, Jason, and the rest of the Muppets cast when the film comes to theaters Nov. 23.
