The Martian Chronicles was written in 1950 by Ray Bradbury. It is a collection of short stories about humans colonizing Mars. This was years before NASA or any pictures of the Martian landscape. Ray Bradbury creates an amazing setting of what could be up on Mars - full of martians, and surprises. This is a must-read for any science fiction.
