The UN Security Council on Friday (29/05) said it "strongly deplores" Pakistan's nuclear tests and called on India and Pakistan not to undertake any further tests. Russian and western intelligence services were caught out by the speed with which Pakistan carried out five nuclear tests, Russia's foreign ministry admitted on Friday. The senior advisor to the Israeli prime minister, David Bar Illan, said that Pakistan's decision to test its nuclear
capability has created the potential for a dangerous shift in the balance of power in both the Indian sub-continent and the Middle East.
